Doug joined AAL in 2019 following retirement. His passion for leadership development and helping others has grown through personal experience where failure was not an option and success was driven solely by the effort of those around him and their pure unwavering devotion, grit and accountability to each other and the mission.
Doug enlisted in the US Navy in 1980 and was selected for an officer program in 1987. Doug completed his BA in Business Administration and his MS in Public Administration, and was commissioned as unrestricted line officer, spending just under 39 years in the Navy, serving in multiple operational theaters, completing 18 deployments and 4 different command tours. He retired in 2018, then spent two years at Blue Origin responsible for leading the team that put Jeff Bezos on 3 others into space for their inaugural first human flight. He currently serves as the Vice President of Test and Launch Operations for ASTRA Space Co. in 2022.
