JIM LYDON

DIRECTOR, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

  • Over 40 years of experience working in the fire service

  • Served as Fire Chief of Benicia Fire Department and the City of Coronado

  • Served as Assistant City Manager and City Manager for the City of Benicia

  • B.S. Degree in Fire Science/ Fire-fighting

  • Master of Arts Degree in Organizational Leadership

Jim got started in the fire service when he was just a teenager and has since racked up 40 years of experience in the industry. He was first associated with the fire service in 1979 as a fire explorer, and he continued to climb the ranks until he became the Fire Chief of Benicia Fire Department. He even served as Assistant City Manager and City Manager for the City of Benicia before finishing his career in the fire service as the Fire Chief of the City of Coronado.

After retiring from the fire service, Jim made the decision to join the AAL team and also work as a consultant/ coach for those in the public sector who are looking to expand their skillsets. Jim is happily married, has two wonderful kids, and is the proud grandparent of four grandchildren.
